From the artist:
When I was a child my incredible, creative and water colourist mother taught my brother and I to close our eyes and 'take a picture' in our minds. This was a world  before the tech-driven barrage our babies have to endure today, and those images still sit in my mind and my heart. At any point I can draw upon them, and with them come the dawn smells and sounds and the skittering memories of running wild sandhills and claypans with my brother.
I drew upon these memories with this work, and it feels like home to me. Soft and gentle; 'Black Hill' in the distance; a soft timberline of the channel country; and light pockets of grasses and wildflowers with tiny horses in the shadows. 
A truly special work for me.
